Tsanzo is a very hardworking young man. He grew up joining his parents in their farm, helping plants the seeds, water the soil, and harvest when the time came. He enjoyed working hard to help his family, knowing that he would see the fruits from his labor. Life then was manageable. Their family made enough money not to suffer incredibly. However, when his parents filed a divorce, his life changed drastically. Neither his mother nor father could continue taking care of his family alone, so he and his siblings moved in with his grandmother. As an elderly lady, she has a hard time supporting the large family of her grandchildren. Life for Tsanzo became increasingly more difficult, especially when he came of age to begin secondary school. He knew he would need to pay school fees, but his family had no idea where the money might come from. They struggled to compile the 12,000 Kwachas required for each term. With the money going towards his school fees, there was less money for other necessities like food, clothing, and other household necessities.
