Shira is the oldest of her siblings, giving her lots of responsibility in her home. She spends her mornings working around her house, cleaning, making breakfast for her family, and anything else that is needed. She works hard to help harvest the crops in their garden, as well as washing the family's clothes by hand. She enjoys working hard, knowing that her family needs the work done, so she is happy to do it. However, the family's economy is reliant on agriculture, which never produces steady money. On occasions the family will receive lots of money from the vegetables and sometimes the money from harvest runs out, leaving the family hungry. School fees and materials add to the money struggles. They can normally scrape the money together for Shira's education, but the materials are normally out of reach. Despite everything that has happened in her life, Shira wears a smile like a welcome mat, always laughing and enjoying to be with her friends and family.
