    Richard Mpakati

  Traditionally, Richard works with DAPP's Development Instructors to help improve the preschools in the neighboring villages. He works very closely with nearly all the people surrounding Amalika, knowing exactly which people are in the most need. His goal for Maphunziro Project is to see it become a long lasting resource to assist the people of Malawi, adding new students every year.

  Mr. Maseya works directly with the people and Chief of Manjolo Village. He helps organize the entire community making him an extremely needed and respected man. He is very familiar with what is required to run a CBO (Community Based Organization) as he helps run another called Friends of Orphans. His position as Student Supervisor in Maphunziro Project means that he will organize meetings with the students to assess performance, as well as behavior. If there are any problems caused by the students, he will arrange meetings with the Headmaster or Main Teacher to help fix the situation. His role ensures that the students work as hard as possible.

  Mwazani works as a Core Group Teacher at DAPP Amalika Teacher Training College. He works with an assembly of students learning to achieve their dream of being a teacher, so they can help teach the primary students of Malawi. He is a very educated man and works directly with students pursuing higher education. He is very familiar with the benefits one achieves because of education and wants nothing more than to make the pursuit of education an achievable goal for the students of Malawi. In Maphunziro Project, he works as the Communications Officer, conducting Skype meetings between Sponsor and Student. This connection allows students to communicate with their sponsors about school, life, and other needs. Mwazani also writes monthly reports on the progress of the Maphunziro Project.

  At DAPP Amalika, Roseby works to feed the student population as a cook. When Maphunziro Project formed, Roseby immediately joined, knowing the impact it would have on the communities, the families, and the students. She works as a Student Supervisor, attending meetings with teachers, headmasters, and the students.

  Lenosi lives in the community working as a farmer. He works very closely with the families in his village, knowing exactly which students need the most support. He works with Maphunziro Project as a Student Supervisor, working directly with the students ensuring they work hard to keep earning high marks, keeping attendance up, and always ensuring good behavior.

    CBO Treasurer

  Mary lives in the communities and works as a Treasurer for another CBO (Community Based Organization) called Friends of Orphans. A highly respected woman, Mary knows many of the families in the neighboring villages, and already works with them closely to make a change in their lives. Because she is already familiar with the responsibilities of Treasurer, it was an easy assignment when she joined Maphunziro Project. Her responsibility entails she travels to the bank to receive the donations from Sponsors to purchase school materials for their Students.

  During the weekday, Fischer works with DAPP as a cook. He is very passionate about seeing the communities he calls home, bettered by a higher rate of education. He is very familiar with how education changes and improves lives for the future. With Maphunziro Project, he sees the lives we can bring and knew from the beginning he wanted to be apart of it. He works very dedicatedly as a Student Supervisor, working with the sponsored students directly to ensure that they give their best performance, to make the most out of their education.

  Saluti makes his living working for DAPP Amalika as the Supervisor of Water and Electricity. Having grown up in the communities, he understands the consequences if a child does not receive an adequate education. He has worked very hard to ensure the success of Maphunziro Project from the beginning, starting by meeting with the students. He now works as Treasurer. When the money comes to the bank, Saluti and the other Treasurers receive the money, taking it to purchase the necessary school materials.

    Farmer

  Isaac lives in the communities, traditionally as a farmer. He is very familiar with all the people of his village, meaning that he sees all the children who attend school, and all of them who do not because lack of finances. He joined Maphunziro Project because he saw an opportunity to give the children and families a better life. His role in Maphunziro Project is Treasurer. Whenever, donations come to the bank, he travels with the three other Treasurers to receive the funds and deliver them where they are assigned.

Conrad Selig


  Born in Colorado (United States) Conrad graduated high school in 2017 and continued on to post-secondary education at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology to study Computer Science. After graduating, Conrad plans on finding a job that will let him work remotely while he travels the world.
